The school says it was founded in 1572 under a royal charter granted by Elizabeth I. It describes itself as a boarding school for boys aged 13 to 18, with traditions linked to The Giants of Old, open mornings for families and an admissions team supporting applicants through the process.
At A level, the average grade was A-, and 44.6% achieved AAB or better in two or more facilitating subjects.
