The school says its history dates back to 1604 and describes itself as an 11-18 comprehensive serving students from across Sheffield. At GCSE, its Attainment 8 score was 50.8 and 55.1% achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths. In the sixth form, the average A-level grade was B-, 16.9% achieved AAB or better in two or more facilitating subjects, and 59% progressed to higher education.
