The Downs School is a non-selective foundation secondary school in Newbury, within West Berkshire. It teaches boys and girls aged 11 to 18, has a sixth form and is a large school, with around 1,440 students.
The school says it is part of Summit Education Trust and describes a Berkshire Downs setting with a small-school feel and values of courage, responsibility, equality, ambition, resilience, creativity and integrity. Ofsted's November 2024 inspection did not give an overall grade. GCSE Attainment 8 was 53.4, 54.4% achieved grade 5+ in English and maths, the A-level average grade was B, and 49% progressed to higher education.
