Underley Garden School is an independent special school near Carnforth in Westmorland and Furness, teaching boys and girls from 5 to 19. It has boarding, a sixth form and special classes, with SEN provision for autism, severe learning difficulty and other difficulties or disabilities. Ofsted rated the school Outstanding in June 2022, and all independent school standards were met.
The school describes a specialist environment of understanding and calm, combining education with therapeutic provision. It says therapists for speech and language, occupational therapy and psychological support work across school and residential life, and it links learning to independence, confidence and community activities near the Lake District.
