Varndean School is a large non-selective community secondary school in Brighton and Hove, serving boys and girls aged 11 to 16. It has special classes. Ofsted rated the school Good in 2022. GCSE Attainment 8 was 48.8, and 55.9% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths; 20.4% of pupils are eligible for free school meals.

The school describes a community where individuality is welcomed and shared, with a broad curriculum, student leadership, student voice, arts, sport, Duke of Edinburgh participation and enrichment opportunities.
