Elm Green Preparatory School is a non-selective independent preparatory school in Danbury, Essex, for boys and girls aged 3 to 11. At its ISI inspection in January 2026, the school met the required standards, including for safeguarding.
The school says it was founded in 1944 by Mary Tubbs and moved to its present site in 1952, where historic farm buildings including a thatched tithe barn are still in use, and describes a warm, inclusive culture built on mutual respect.
