The school says it was formed in September 2023 through the amalgamation of Tennyson Road Infant School and Alfred Street Junior School. It says it was named after Alfred Lord Tennyson because reading sits at the heart of the curriculum, and describes a family feel, a Family Support Worker and a Learning Mentor.
