The school describes a nurturing environment where pupils are safe, happy and enjoy school. It says it promotes lifelong learning through a rich curriculum with first-hand experiences, a child-centred approach, strong reading discussion, and mathematics teaching supported by the Sussex Maths Hub Mastery Readiness programme.
