Appletree School is a selective independent special school in Kendal for boys and girls aged 6 to 12. It is a boarding school, serves a very small cohort of around 10 pupils, and has social, emotional and mental health provision.

The school describes specialist therapeutic homes, schools and therapy for young children who have experienced trauma, neglect or abuse. It says its Roots programme focuses on children feeling safe, cared about and valued, building belonging, attachments and resilience.
