The Shires is a small independent special boarding school in Rutland for pupils aged 11 to 19. It has a sixth form, special classes and SEN provision for autistic spectrum disorder and severe learning difficulty. Ofsted judged the school Good in April 2024 and found the independent school standards met.
It serves around 30 pupils, making it a specialist setting with a small pupil group and a broad secondary-to-post-16 age range.
