Ashton-on-Mersey School is a large mixed, non-selective secondary academy in Sale, Trafford, teaching ages 11 to 19 and including a sixth form. Ofsted rated it Good at its last full inspection in 2019.
The school says it was founded in 1981 after separate boys' and girls' schools amalgamated, and that it is the founding school of The Dean Trust. It describes an ethos of aspiration and endeavour, with a broad curriculum and opportunities beyond lessons.
