George Hastwell School Special Academy is a sponsor-led special academy in Barrow-in-Furness, Westmorland and Furness, for ages 3 to 19. It has nursery classes, a sixth form and around 95 pupils.
Its December 2024 Ofsted inspection did not give an overall grade. The school has provision across a wide range of needs, including sensory impairments, speech and language needs, autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, physical disability and learning difficulties.
The school describes a safe and creative learning community on Walney where everyone is valued.
