Safe Start School is a non-selective independent school in Tameside for boys and girls aged 11 to 16. Ofsted rated it Good in February 2022, and the independent school standards were met.
The school says it works with young people whose education has been affected by childhood trauma or adverse experiences. It describes a trauma-informed, nurturing approach, a bespoke curriculum, small classes and a primary model with a consistent teacher and mentor.
