Columbia Grange School is a mixed academy special converter in Washington, Sunderland, for children aged 5 to 11. It has around 140 pupils and SEN provision for speech, language and communication needs, autistic spectrum disorder and severe learning difficulty. Ofsted rated it Outstanding at its last full inspection in April 2011.
The school says it opened in September 2003 as a purpose-built provision with additional facilities for autistic pupils. It describes therapy rooms, a sensory room, outdoor facilities and work underpinned by SCERTS: Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support.
