Birch Wood (Melton Area Special School) is a special academy in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, teaching children and young people aged 4 to 19, with a sixth form and around 240 places. Its specialist provision spans a wide range of needs, including autism, speech, language and communication needs, moderate and specific learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and hearing, visual, multi-sensory and physical impairments.
The school describes SEND-expert staff who are highly committed to its pupils, and a culture it calls ENABLES, which it says embodies high aspirations for every pupil.
