Newark Orchard School is a special academy in Newark, Nottinghamshire, teaching children and young people aged 3 to 18, with nursery classes, a sixth form and around 170 places. Its specialist provision covers autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, and moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties, taught in special classes.
The school's motto is 'Together we Aspire, Achieve, Thrive', and it is part of the Community Inclusive Trust, which it says is working with the Nottinghamshire local authority on a proposed satellite site at Caunton. Its curriculum is organised into pathways from pre-formal through to formal learning, with Read Write Inc phonics supporting early reading, the school says.
