Chalk Hill is a small special academy in Sudbury, Suffolk, taking boys and girls aged 8 to 16, with capacity for 30 and just nine pupils on roll. It is registered as a boarding school, with boarding offered to all students from Monday to Thursday in term time, the school says, as part of a 24-hour curriculum.
Based in Great Cornard, the school says it serves young people who have found mainstream education difficult, and that from September 2025 it became a special school for pupils with autism and co-occurring social, emotional and mental health needs, working broadly at national curriculum levels. Its described aim is for students to overcome barriers to learning and reintegrate into mainstream schooling or another suitable setting — with Ruby, the school's therapy dog, part of daily life.
